Background:
A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a

The first LETSystem has been operating since 1983.
Was
designed and developed in 1982 by Michael Linton.
Currently
the original system is dormant, soon to be revived. However, there is
a community way program using smart cards with about 25 businesses some
of which are retailers.

just switched to a new data-base called T-LETS, which is Access-based
and available from The MadNetter c/o K-W Barterworks.
The
Peterborough LETS in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, is located in a
city of about 76,000. Peterborough is located about 1.5 hrs north east
of Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 1994, The Peterborough LETS Exchange
now has its' directory on the internet. Our current membership consists
of over 70 members.
